Read, Read, Read!

I can't emphasize enough the importance of reading during the summer months. Whether your child can read on their own or whether you need to read to them, reading is vital for students to not lose what they have learned in the previous school year. Reading helps build vocabulary. It helps increase background knowledge and it also is a great way to have teachable moments with your child. Keep reading, visit a library, or a bookstore. have a picnic and take along a book! You will be giving your child a chance for a better future and an easier, more enjoyable and succesful time in school.
