Putting your Adventures into Print

Well, it is halfway through the summer and I bet there are a lot of good stories out there, just waiting to be told, about what you have done in the last six weeks. Last week, it was almost too hot to be out, so it was good to find something to do that kept you cool and that was in the shade. Journaling is a good activity on any day. It helps you recall good memories, work out bad ones and perhaps even helps you become a better writer! (Surprise!) The more you write, the easier it becomes and the more you will want to find different words to describe what you are feeling and doing. Rudyard Kipling (The Jungle Book and Just So Stories) wrote about his adventures of being the son of missionaries in a foreign land and Robert Louis Stevenson (Treasure Island and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) wrote because he was stuck in the bed as an invalid. Both young men became famous writers, and it all started with journaling.
