How meditation exercises can help you with public speaking

I have been meditating now for the last ten years. Training your mind to focus on one word through meditation, blocking out all other "noise", is an excellent tool when public speaking. As you stand there and your palms sweat and you start to panic if you can focus on one person in the audience who looks like your grandmother or your spouse, someone you love and trust, and pretend you are only speaking to that one person your fears will vanish.
