Recommended Statistics Learning Strategies - Experienced Subject Matter Expert

My recommended strategy to Students at all academic levels for learning and successfully passing the course at all modalities (on-line, on-ground) is the culmination of at least ten years of teaching and tutoring statistics at the undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate levels in business, management, sciences, social studies, and psychology. It consists of the following:

1. The first is to learn how to overcome fear and anxiety from the unknown and look at tutoring as a prudent investment to your immediate future and success. Engage the tutor from the start of the course and don't prolong the decision because of the complexity and quantitative nature of the subject area. This component of the overall strategy is to keep the weekly normal pace and retain basic real life knowledge for ongoing participation in the political and economic process of the National affairs and State-of-the-Union.

2. Academic Reading Materials and Study Guides encompass three distinct sections without any exceptions. (1) The descriptive section for identifying the measurements scale, data dispersion tendencies, histograms, and graphics using Microsoft Excel or other tools such as SPSS, Megastat, Mini-tab, StatsCrunch, or others available in the market place, (2) The discrete and continuous probabilities section, and (3) Inference Stats for sampling from population (s) and testing claims with the five-step hypothesis structure or methodology.

3. Academic Institutions offer different technology options and at times they are mandatory such as SPSS. We recommend MegaStat as the standard Microsoft add-in option unless stated otherwise by the University. Some universities leave this option open to the student and integrate StatsCrunch with MyStatslab for the weekly practice exercises and quizzes. All of these magnificent tools are augmented by the TI 82/84 calculators for manual operations. Make sure that concepts are understood first, the proper formulas second based on the section and chapter, and mastery of an appropriate tool to maximize productivity and minimize the time requirements. Make sure that initially you compare manual results with the selected tool's technology results.

4. Last but not least, attempt initially to avoid on-line stats classes based on your readiness and strengths in Math and Stats. Post the assignments, quizzes, and research projects on-time and keep up with the pace. Your designated tutor will assist and support you in the overall academic compliance to succeed and move on with your personal goals.
