Okay, as a tutor and college professor, I hate to hear my students complain about Math or Algebra. Learning math and basic algebra is not difficult if you understand the basic concepts behind the subject. Remember when you first learned how to drive a car or ride a bike for the first time. There are rules as to what type of fuel belongs in the car and what happens to the engine and transmission when the fuel is in the car. Learning Math and Algebra is very much the same. There are rules that must be obeyed and once you learn, understand and memorize the rules, you are able to apply the rules of any mathematical subject.

Remember, in Math there are basic rules of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. In Algebra, there are order of operations that apply to variables and coefficients. Remember, “X” is not scary. It just represents a number and an action that needs to be taken with an operation. If you learn the rules of Algebra and practice, practice, practice, you too will master Math and Algebra.

Best,

Professor Michele
