Have you ever brought your camera on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation or to an important family function, only to discover that your photos don’t do any justice to what you saw, or worse yet, came out horrible? What happened? You aimed, and you shot. The pictures came out blurry, poorly lit, overexposed, or crooked.
Of course it is no secret that there is more to photography than pointing and shooting! One must know how to make adjustments to focus, aperture, shutter speed, and when to use flash. Some of the newer digital cameras have so many functions, it may seem like you need a degree in rocket science just to take a picture!
Some things to consider when taking a photo:
Perhaps you want to get into macro photography to photograph objects close-up to get all of the details? Maybe you want to try some special effects? Maybe you need to learn how to edit some blemishes out of an otherwise good picture?
With more than 25 years of taking photos as a hobbyist, I can help you learn basic photographic theory and will work with you to help you to improve your technique.
Remember, even the best camera in the world won’t take great photos on its own! Conversely, you do not need an overly expensive camera to take beautiful photos.
My tuition rate is $45 per hour of instruction. If you study with me, in addition to studying theory, there will be some outings to practice your skills.
