You can solve this by using substitution.
Think of it a bit like this -> y = y right?
So you have two different equations for 'y' - - which must equal each other.
2x + 2 = (1/2)x + 5
rearrange a bit (subtract the ''excess'' 1/2 x from both sides......
This system will not have a unique solution. The slopes of the two lines are identical - so either they are parallel (and never intersect) or are identical lines (and an infinite number of identical points).
Its not quite possible to tell - as the second equation in the (2), (3)...
