To solve these type of problems, imagine that you are at the point (0,2). To get from (0,2) to (0,0), you would have to take two steps in the negative y-direction and no steps in the x-direction. Meaning, (0-0,2-2)-->(0,0).
So similarly, we are now at the point (8,5), so we apply the same steps as in the previous point. Meaning, we take two steps in the negative y-direction and no steps in the x-direction: (8-0, 5-2)=(8,3).
For the second part of the problem we have to figure out the new steps to take. We start at (8,5) and end at (3,7). To get there, we would have to take 5 steps in the negative x-direction, and 2 steps in the positive y-direction. Meaning, (8-5, 5+2)=(3, 7)
Now let's apply those same steps, but let's start at point (0,2). So we walk 5 steps in the negative x-direction, and two steps in the positive y-direction. (0-5, 2+2)=(-5, 4)
