First, this is a Distance = rate * time equation problem

First you have 45mph at an x amount of hours and 60 mph at a y amount of hours.

The total trip including her stay was 43 hours.

From that we can conclude x + y + 10 = 43

We also can conclude that D = 45(x) and D = 60(33-x) because travel time only was 33 hrs

From that D = D so 45x = 1980 - 60x

Simplify 105x = 1980

Simply x = 18.9[...] hours thus the distance would be

45(18.9[...]) = about 849 miles
