You can consider how many 2 week periods are in a year. There are 52 weeks in a year so when you divide 52 by 2 you get 26. Therefore you work 7 additional shifts 26 times during the year.
7x26=182 additional shifts
Another way to find this number is to set up equal proportions.
7 shifts is to 2 weeks as x additional shifts is to 52 weeks
7/2 = x/52
Cross multiply and you get 2x = 364
x = 182 additional shifts
(2) you earn $85 for each of these
182·85 = 15,470
(3) Add this amount for additional shifts to the base salary to get the annual salary
15,470 + 83,000 = 98,470
