J = 2P <--- Joohn is twice as old as peter
P = A+5 <--- peter is 5 years older than alice

J+5 = 3A <--- in 5 years, John will three times as old as Alice is NOW

J = 3A - 5
plugs this into the first equation:
3A - 5 = 2P
P = A+5

3A - 5 = 2(A+5)
3A - 5 = 2A + 10
A - 5 = 10
A=15

Alice is 15
Peter is 20.
John is 40.
