Solution:

Lines are either parallel, perpendicular or intersecting.

If the slopes of the two lines QR and ST are equal, then the lines are parallel m1 = m2

If the slopes of the line are reciprocal inverse to each other

m2=-(1/m) then the line QR and ST are perpendicular

if none, the slopes are neither parallel or perpendicular

Find slope of line QR passing through the two points

(2, 8) and (3, 10)

the slope of line QR is m1= (10-8)/(3-2)=2/1=2

Find slope of line ST passing through the two points

(0, 6) and (-2, 2)

the slope of line QR is m2= (2-6)/(-2-0)=-4/-2=2

(0, 6) and (-2, 2)

the slope of line QR is m2= (2-6)/(-2-0)=-4/-2=2

Since slopes of the line m1=m2=2 then the lines QR and ST are parallel

to each others.
