Let d = price of a drink = 3.50

Let p = price of popcorn = 1.75

 

System of Linear Equations:

 

3d + 8p = 24.50

6d + 2p = 24.50

 

This can be solved by substitution, elimination, graphing, and by matrices, among other methods. 

 

Drink cost = d = $3.50

Popcorn cost = p = $1.75
