The focus and directrix are the same distance from from the parabola.
The distance formula is d = √[(x - x1)2 + (y - y1)2]
So in this case, the distance between the focus and the parabola is:
d = √[(x + 7)2 + (y + 5)2]
This has to be the same as the distance between the directrix and the parabola:
d = √[(x + 4)2]
