Two more than two thirds multiplied by a number is equal to two and two thirds. What is the number?
(2+(2/3) x Y = (2(2/3))
Y=1
2+2/3n= 2 2/3

-2.         = -2

2/3n = 2/3

3/2 * 2/3n = 2/3 * 3/2

n = 1
Call the number x, then (2/3)x + 2 = 2 2/3 = 8/3.

Rewriting the equation so that x is left alone on the left side:

(2/3)x = 8/3 - 2 = 2/3

Multiply both sides by 3/2: (3/2)(2/3)x = (3/2)(2/3) and x = 1.

Checking: (2/3)(1) + 2 = 8/3
