Math is Life. Also the inverse is true.

Having 12% saves you $38, then 12% of the original price is $38. Then, 1%=$38/12=$3.17 and so, 100%=$317. The original price is 317$.

Having a discount of 45%, the discounted price will be 55% of the original price(because 100%-45%=55%). The discounted price will be $317×55%=$317×0.55=$174.35
