I assume you seek the dimensions of the wallpaper.
 
A = LW
 
A = 80 ft2
 
W = L - 2  [ft]
 
80 = L(L - 2) 
 
80 = L2 - 2L
 
Solve for L.
 
L2 - 2L - 80 = 0
 
(L - 10)(L + 8) = 0
 
L = 10 or -8
 
But length must be positive, so 
 
L = 10 ft
 
W = (10 - 2) ft = 8 ft
