The slope formula is:
m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
- m = slope = 10
- (x1,y1) = one point of the line = (-5,9)
- (x2,y2) = the second point of the line = (k,-1)
10 = (-1-9)/(k-(-5))
10 = (-10)/(k+5)
k+5 = -10/10
k+5 = -1
k = -1 - 5
k = -6
