Hi Jennifer...As I say to students...I can help you with directions on solving your problem, however, as a teacher, I would like to help you develop the skill so that other problems like this will give you the confidence in solving them.

so...let's make sure you know what your teacher's questions is asking you to solve.

It appears your task is to calculate for...TIME...'how long' did it take to go this distance...Right?

Okay...so let's look at what we know...the problem gives us 'SPEED' [Hint: this tells you the formula you will need] and distance. What is the formula for Speed?

Distance ÷ Time = Speed That's how we have 40 KM per hour or 40 KM/hr

we have distance...the problems asks for time.....and we know the speed

This is where some Algebra come in...I will leave the rest for you...I am available for further assistance...try to solve

this on your own...try...and if you need any further assistance ...let me know
