2:

 5 ( X + Y = 4 )
 - 5X +2Y = -6           /  Multiply first equation by 5 and add with second equation
  0 X + 7Y = 14

     Y = 2
   Substitute Y=2 in the first equation , and solve for X
   2 + X = 4

     X = 2

     Test:
                   2 + 2 =4
                  -5(2) + 2( 2) = -6

      After writing your first equation properly , then solve it yourself by the same, elimination method.
