This is incorrect !!! Abraham lincoln disagreed with the southern states for the 13th amendement and had hard time to pass the proclaimation, but never got impeached , Hayes NO! and Grant was a drunkar but not to be impeached . Presidents always have enemies , but they never face a kenneth star for impeachement like Clinton.

Two Presidents have been impeached: Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton.
  • Andrew Johnson was impeached because he violated the "Tenure of Office Act" (which was later ruled unconstitutional). This law restricted the powers of the President by requiring the consent of the Senate to remove Cabinet members from their offices. Johnson fired Secretary of War Edwin Stanton which caused the House of Representatives to impeach him on February 24, 1868.
  • Bill Clinton was impeached because he committed perjury and obstruction of justice. He lied under oath in a deposition that arose from information uncovered during an investigation, which was looking into many alleged abuses by President Clinton, that Clinton had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a White House intern, Monica Lewinsky. He was impeached by the House of Representatives on Dec. 19, 1998.
Although both men were impeached by the House, the Senate failed to convict in either case.

Andrew Johnson, not Andrew Jackson, was impeached by the House in February 1868 because northern senators were dissatisfied with his performance in the years just after the Civil War. He had a trial in the Senate, and was acquitted by one vote in May 1868.

President Bill Clinton also was impeached by the House, in 1998, but was acquitted by the Senate in 1999.

Andrew johnson ,VP under Lincoln for southern economic affairs regarding slavery, Nixon for the pentagon paper, and his affairs with the new York times was leading to an impeachement for FOR HIGH CRIMES AND MISDEMEANOURS , and Bill clinton for the Monica lewinsky by congressional ethics committee. In fact Andrew Jackson was almost impeached . he was a widow at that time and I saw him today in my wallet, but I gave him away for a coffee.

1. Andrew Johnson was impeached for violating the Tenure of Office Act by dismissing Edwin Stanton.
2. Nixon was never impeached. He resigned before it got to that point.
3. "The Pentagon Papers" was Robert McNamara's CYA diary and, in the grand scheme of things, was largely unimportant. People associate it with Nixon because it came out when he was President.
4. Andrew Jackson never even came close to being impeached.
