if i have a 3.33 gpa now and i get a c equal to a 74 on my course this semester what will my gpa be. i have 12 credits so far in my gpa. this will make it 3 more credits. What is the least grade number i can get to not go under a 3.00 gpa

GPA points are based on letter grades, not the numeric score.
A = 4 points per credit, B = 3, C=2, D=1, F=0  (Unless your school has some weird system!)
Your GPA is currently 3.33 with 12 credits.
X/12 = 3.33
X = 40 points.
Your current course is worth 3 credits.
You will add 4x3 = 12 points for an A, 9 for a B, 6 for a C, 3 for a D or zip for an F.
If you maintain your C, you'll have 40+6=46 points and 12+3=15 credits.
That will make your GPA 46/15 = 3.07
If you get a D, it will be 43/15 = 2.87
If you get a B, it will be 49/15 = 3.27
Maintain that C or better!

My advice: Don't shoot for the minimum you can get by with; rather, do the best you can possibly do.
