HI Shaheer, the problem here is the ratio is boys to girls, but the total number of students is both boys and girls. To solve this problem, we can use the ratio of boys to boys and girls, or 4 : 7. Then we can set up a proportion to find out how many boys and girls are in the school.

Proportion:

4 / 7 = x / 560

Cross-multiply:

7x = 2240

Divide by 7:

x = 320

The school has 320 boys and 560 - 320, or 240 girls.

Check:

Ratio of boys to girls:

320 / 240 = 4 / 3
