5 *2 / 5 - 3*2/10 =5-3 * 2 / 5 - 2 / 10 =2 * 2 / 10

now look the same question with other way,

27 /5 - 32 / 10 = -5 / 10

so both method are right ? if yes then tell me the why both giving diff. answers

yes or NO ....REASONS

Ok, I see why your having difficulty to answer this.

5*2/5-3*2/10

you're first method is wrong because you are collecting the whole numbers from the mixed fractions and the proper fractions together and you can't do that because of the minus sign. They are 2 different fractions not mixed.

2nd method is correct until the step after 27/5-32/10. You can't just subtract 27-32 because you don't have the same denominator. Find LCD. Won't give you right answer anyways though.

use paranthesis to separate fractions. Answer is 7/5

27/5 - 32/10 =

54/10 - 32/10 = 22/10 = 11/5 ( you did not make the denominator common.)

Mistake in your 2nd method.

In your first example, when using / for fraction sign you should enclose numerator and denominator in parenthesis.

5*2/5 - 3*2/10=

2 - 3/5 = 10/5 - 3/5 = 7/5

This is the way you have written your problems.

Remember , only fractions with the same denominator can add. So by use of LCM you should make denominators alike, then add, by writing the common denominator and adding the numerator.
