Hi again David;

x^{2}-9x+8

We can factor this.

For the FOIL...

FIRST must be (x)(x)=x^{2}

OUTER and INNER must add-up to -9x

LAST must be (8)(1) or (1)(8) or (4)(2) or (2)(4), and both numbers must be negative.

(x-8)(x-1)

FIRST...(x)(x)=x^{2}

OUTER...(x)(-1)=-1x=-x

INNER...(-8)(x)=-8x

LAST...(-8)(-1)=8

x^{2}-x-8x+8

x^{2}-9x+8
