Hi Mya,

There will be two variables and two equations to solve for them.

Let C = cost of one kilo of cinnamon red hots and let G = cost of one kilo of gummy bears

She bought 3 kilos of redhots and 1 kilo of gummy bears for 21--> 3C + G = 21

She bought 3 kilos of red hots and 3 kilos of gummy bears for 39--> 3C + 3G = 39

Subtract the first equation from the second equation00> 2G = 18

Divide both sides by 2--> G = 9

So C = 4

Plug these numbers back into the problem to make sure that they work.
