calculate slope of line:
 
(y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
 
[2 - (-4)]/[-1 - (-10)] ---> 6/9 ---> 2/3
 
so slope is 2/3.
 
we use the formula y = mx + b to calculate y intercept. Let's use first point to figure out b.
 
-4 = (2/3)(-10) + b
 
-4 = -20/3 + b
 
-4 + 20/3 = b
 
-12/3 + 20/3 = b
 
b = 8/3
 
 y-intercept is (0, 8/3)
