(2xy^{6})^{5}

Tutors, please sign in to answer this question.

You have to raise everything within the parenthesis to the 5th power.

2^{5}x^{5}(y^{6})^{5} = 32x^{5}y^{5x6} *Remember to multiply exponents

It becomes 32x^{5}y^{30}

I hope this helps.

Hi Jeanetta,

(2xy^{6})^{5 }is the same thing as (2)^{5} * (x)^{5} * (y^{6})^{5}. Therefore:

(2)^{5} * (x)^{5} * (y6)^{5}

= 32 * (x^{5}) * (y^{6*5})

= 32x^{5}y^{30}

Hope you find this helpful!
