Think of this problem in terms of equation. Assume that dollar amount x is invested at 10%, then:

**0.1x = 0.06(80000-x)**

Next:

**0.1x + 0.06x=0.06 x 80000****0.16x = 4800**which results in

**x=30,000 invested at 10%****The rest $50,000 invested at 6%**
