let the speed of first car be 'u' and that of second be 'v'

we will take the time in minutes only.

so car from A travels 17u =d1 before car B starts . ie at 9:17.

now let they meet after t minutes at Point P. then distance travelled by car A

is u*t and distance travelled by car B is v*t .

after point P car A further travels for 10 minutes so it covers distance 10 u

and car B covers total distance 20v

if you will make the line diagram ,you will be able to write these two equations

10u= vt and 17u+ ut= 20v

ie (17+t)10u= 200v

(17+ t) t=200

solving this quadratic ,you get t as 8

so the cars meet at 9:17 +8 min ie 9:25
