How many lines of symmetry does the flag of the state of Georgia have?. Determine the number of lines of symmetry in the flag, and describe the lines
of symmetry you discover. What concept might you use this activity for in an
elementary school setting?
The state of Georgia's flag has 3 stripes (2 red, 1 white), and a blue field in the upper left corner with the coat of arms and state motto. The flag doesn't have any lines of symmetry (unless you are meant to cut it into sections?).
Alabama and New Mexico's flags have multiple lines of symmetry. Colorado and Arizona each have 1 line of symmetry. You can see the state flags side by side on Wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flags_of_the_U.S._states
