After this session, I feel fully comfortable drawing out the Lewis Structures for common molecules and filling out the formal charges for each individual atom. In addition, I understand the purpose of resonance structures and the Octet Expansion rule. I look forward to our next sessions together, as I know that Reno's steady pace will help me really understand the material at a deeper level than just memorization.
We reviewed Lewis versus Bronsted-Lowry acid and bases, hybridization states, molecular geometry, resonance structures, isomers, nomenclature, Newman projections, IR spectra, functional groups, and chair conformations. I felt comfortable enough with Deanne to ask her to clarify certain points during our review, and she was very patient and understanding. She helped me redirect my focus to areas that need to be reinforced.
Electron configurations, periodic trends and determining resonance structures. I needed extra help for an upcoming exam and he made the material understandable and easier to navigate. I would highly recommend to college students wanting to do better in chemistry.
