It had not helped me better understand testing strategy, or how to approach the MBE and essay portions. My particular weakness was the MBE; Debbie helped me go from failing to finish MBE sections to confidently finishing each section twenty minutes early. I used to say that I was not a multiple choice test-taker, but my experience with Debbie changed that by building up my confidence and familiarity with the way the test asks you to recall information in a multiple-choice question.
I did one and half hour per session, two to three times per week for two months, normally covering (i) 6 essay questions, (ii) 12-14 MBE questions, (ii) 8-10 MBE questions with 2 essay questions, (iii) 1 MPT plus 2 essay questions, or (iv) 1 MPT plus 3-4 MBE questions. I really studied very hard with him. I am very happy to get high scores in the bar exam, which is well enough to transfer my scores even to State of Alaska. I just put everything on the exam that I learned and studied with him.
In the short time that he's been my tutor, he has already helped me to massively improve my practice MBE scores, and taught me dozens of tricks. Before I met Hank, I could not get my average percent correct on MBE questions to crack the 50% mark. It was incredibly frustrating because I felt like I knew the material, but was somehow still getting questions wrong. Hank listened thoughtfully to what I was doing, then carefully chose questions for us to go over together.
