I am a biochemistry major minoring in medical humanities and health studies. I am passionate about health care disparities and have been accepted to dental school. I have been offered tutoring positions for biology and biochemistry and a TA position for anatomy. I also spent several years advising flute students as I was the section leader. In all of my experiences, I have realized that each student learns in their own individual way. What works for one student might not work for another and it is important to understand to study in a way that works for you. I am very patient and willing to adapt my teaching to what will help the student best.

I have received A's in Anatomy, Biochemistry 1-3, General Chemistry 1 and 2, and several upper level biology courses. I was offered various tutoring and TA positions at my school. I worked in a biochemistry lab for two years as an undergraduate researcher where I worked with hybrid group II introns and learned to do various splicing assays, PCR, DNA mini prep kits, transcription, restriction enzyme digestion, and to make agarose and polyacrylamide gels.

I have played the flute for 12 years. I was the flute section leader in my high school marching band for 4 years and was also first chair in my high school concert band for several years. I was a part of our county band and the states music educators associations district and regional band. I was able to travel to Nashville with my band and perform outside the Grand Ole Opry. In college I was a part of the marching and concert bands for several years. In addition to playing at the Big 12 games, I also had the opportunity to play at Walt Disney World.
