I graduated from Chicago's Wells High School and on a Writing Scholarship went off to the prestigious Northwestern University where I graduated with a degree to teach English. My degree is in English Education with an emphasis on teaching English in the Secondary Schools of this nation. However, as life always has other plans for people, I spent eight years working in administrative workforce jobs and became Assistant Registrar at NU and a Coordinator of Education Programs at The American Dietetic Association, and afterwards began teaching at the college level all manner of writing from the grammar and didactic to creative writing classes and literature. I have continued in higher education teaching now for over 30 years.
At the same time, over the years, I have been a professional writer and editor as well as a speaker at writing conventions. I published 40 novels with New York publishers before I began self-publishing via Kindle ebooks/Amazon where now I have some 66 titles published altogether. I maintain a website, a blog, several Facebook pages, and a Twitter account for my books, all of which save one on how to write being novels and short story collections. I bring my creative side to work with me when teaching all forms of writing.
I have taught all manner of writing classes at various levels for over 30 years. I get results as I use materials and concepts that allow for learning fast and efficiently. My students quickly begin to understand and learn because they quickly begin to see the patterns and connectedness of all aspects of writing. They leave me thinking far more like a writer.

Along the way, you will become both a better research writer for formal writing AND a better creative writer for occasions when you wish to write for fun or profit. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
