B.S. The University of Maryland (Neurobiology)
Marshall University School of Medicine (MD)
Hey all, I am Aaron. I'm a medical student at Marshall University currently. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, College Park majoring in neurobiology and physiology. I graduated with a 3.7 GPA and completed courses in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, physics, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, neurobiology, and statistics. I am comfortable tutoring any of these subjects, though I would need to brush up on my statistics before teaching a higher level course. I also would love to teach test prep for the MCAT, SAT or ACT
The reason I'm here tutoring is I haven't had the opportunity to in my three years here in medical school and I really loved it when I was at Maryland. I tutored athletes in all the subjects listed above through a program at UMD for 3 years. I also tutored high school students in biology, chemistry, and US history. I have worked with younger students in elementary school as well so I am comfortable with any age group and most subjects.
I completed all of these courses in undergraduate with an A and again in medical school with high grades and passed a board exam testing all of these subjects plus the others in my bio.
I scored a 28 on this exam with no help from instructors or a course. I spent quite some time studying for this exam and am confident i can prep a student well for this as I am currently in medical school.
Please contact me to set up a time to tutor you. I promise we will make the session entirely beneficial to you and we can work with whatever methods you are comfortable learning from including practice problems, teaching instruction, etc. i am available to travel to meet with any student within 40 miles of the Huntington area. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I’m a third year medical student who spent an entire year in the gross anatomy lab learning human anatomy hands on.
I took the MCAT in 2015 and scored a 28 on the older style MCAT with my first time with no help from a course or formal instruction. I am confident to teach the new MCAT as well because I took biochemistry in undergraduate and medical school and psychology was my minor in undergrad. I'm able to tutor Biology and chemistry as well as they are essential parts of medical school.
