I am currently an Academic Tutor for Marshall's HELP program.
I was a substitute teacher for Jr. High and High school students in California.
I also have 3 additional years experience as a Math and Science tutor (pre-algebra, algebra I & II, geometry, Biology, AP Chemistry) to several high school and college students. Some of which had various learning disorders, so I am very familiar with the difficulties they can pose to academics. Tammie is a wonderful tutor. She has been tutoring my son for the past two months and his grade in Biology has gone from an F to a C+. At this rate, he will end the semester with a B. She is always on time, is well-prepared, has a great way of teaching, and a great attitude. My son really enjoys working with her. I highly recommend her.
Tammie is great. She came to our house right on time and was very friendly and patient with my daughter. My daughter said the subject is starting to make sense after her session. She's very accommodating with my daughter's busy schedule. I'm glad I found her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
