Hello prospective tutor candidates. I am a successful college professor in cybersecurity, information systems management, computer studies, criminal justice, project management, and technical studies. My education is extensive and specialized with doctoral studies in the management of information technology, systems security, financial analysis, and risk management. I also have doctoral PhD studies where I achieved a 4.0 grade point average in management and decision science. This specialty is excellent in teaching information systems management, business management, finance, accounting, and all core subjects up to the doctoral level. I also conducted peer reviews of doctoral papers for publication. I am an expert in writing, reviewing papers at all levels, and providing feedback to improve school work. I also have a Masters in Business Administration and am able to provide assistance with all technology subjects, accounting problems, mathematical tracking methodologies, and systems analysis. I acquired a certificate in IT for Project Management and teach college level project management plus many certificate preparation courses.
I acquired the experience to help with all these subjects by supervising major projects. I have the ability to teach, train, and support all project management questions. A Bachelor degree in Law and another Bachelor degree in information systems management provide a unique combination of expertise and education. I managed a computer management division to provide tutorial service for those needing tutorial assistance with computer law and ethics (subjects taught to students who were at the Bachelor level). I have taught elementary school level in after school programs. The subjects taught were computer design and graphics.
I have also taught all age groups from elementary school to teaching senior citizens on operating computers. I designed courses for the Capitol PC Users Group and have taught for military, government, industry, and academia. My experience culminates with over 30 years of experience in being a project manager, systems analyst, accountant, budget analyst, supervisor, teacher, trainer, professor, and veteran.
In addition, I learned to play the trumpet at age 14 and currently play at services for Bugles across America, acquired a black belt in Karate, obtained a military police position in the Army, became a drill sergeant, went to Officer Candidate School, and am able to enhance the learning experience my adapting to the student's individual learning style and ability to understand the material. My rate will vary according to level of difficulty of the material. It will be no less than $50 and no more than $60 per hour. I provide group rates for tutoring up to 5 students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have developed curriculum and tactics that have proven success for ADD/ADHD students with supplemental training provided on an individual basis with tutorials in realigning attention span. This has been proven as a successful undertaking in schools such as a local middle school and the Univ. of MD. As a tutor of attention deficit students, my training and delivery to the students has spanned over 15 years for all age groups from elementary school thru college. I taught groups of students with deficit challenges in after school programs for elementary schools and for weekend training sessions to restore concentration based on interaction with counselors and advisors to create an interactive program of training success.
I am the Chief Executive Officer/Chief Information Officer and Chief Operating Officer of a registered computer consulting company. I secure contracts through various venues including DUNS listing and SAM database with the federal government. I have held contracts with the federal government and military in creating courses and advancing business interests. In addition to holding a Master of Business Administration with a 4.0 MBA; I have taught Information Systems Management Business level courses. Business Management is part of the curriculum required for students as a core requirement. I have successfully taught at this level for over 5 years. I also developed a variety of business courses while serving as the Training Director for the Capitol PC Users Group for over 6 years.
Chess has been a game that I have mastered since an early age. I have subsequently taught chess to several colleagues including those at the Office of General Counsel. I have played chess with many organizations that promote the game and excel in various tactics such as quick moves to checkmate, castle to king, and chess on queen prior to checkmate.
The classics were required reading throughout parochial school from Aristotle to Plato Dialogues. Writing and quoting from the classics included integrating past wisdom from the classics for the PhD (Doctor of Philosophy). I am knowledgeable about Greek, Roman, China, and the Indian era of 1000BC to approximately 600CE which covers the classical era. The classics were part of a tutorial program that I conducted in after school programs as a consultant with my own consulting program as CEO for 8 years. I developed tailored programs for students, professionals, and academics to educate and prepare individuals for course readiness and testing for entrance exams. I am well versed in the Classical era.
Currently, and in past years, I have taught cybersecurity, computer science, cryptography, managerial computer science, at the college level for Bachelor of Science students and Masters level students at UMUC. I also designed several courses for the college. I have a BS in IFSM, BS in Law, MBA, MS in Technology Mgmt, and doctoral level etc., education.
Currently, I am teaching the criminal justice curriculum at a local community and technical college where computer forensics and criminology are taught by me. I have a 32 year history with the military as a military police trainer, military police officer, and drill sergeant.
Since 1989, I have published newsletters for various venues including the Environmental Protection Agency and the Dept. of Health and Human Services for policy updates. I also was appointed as newsletter editor for the Academy of Management, Operations Division. This requires expert knowledge in various publication tools including Adobe products, MS Publisher, and other applications including the ability to design, edit, and publish to the Internet.
As a sub-contractor for CI Corporation, I was assigned to a K-6th grade school in the State of Virginia to develop, create, and roll out an after school program that included mathematics, science, vocabulary, English grammar, spelling, and computer graphics. Once I developed the curriculum, it was approved by the school and I taught the after school program for several semesters as it was integrated in the regular curriculum over time based on my design.
I have played brass instruments since the age of 14 and learned to read music at age 15 (over 40 years' experience). I have played in bands (high school, college, and professional). I studied the French horn, which is in the key of C and the trumpet, which is the key of Bb simultaneously. I played the French horn for classical Music in concerts for the public. I am adept at reading music and have taught brass instruments at the professional level.
I began studying music as a teenager and learned to play brass instruments. I used the Arban method for classical music training to effectively read and ultimately compose. I am able to read music and am thoroughly versed in bass and treble clefs. I also am able to sight read and play or sight read and sing in the key the music has been written. I am able to arrange music and change chords to mirror existing arrangements for continuity of sound. I use a metronome for teaching students tempo and keeping time with the music. I am especially knowledgeable in teaching students how to read music.
I began training in martial arts when I was 15 years old from a third degree black belt. I studied Tae Kwon Do from a formal institution. I went through the ranks of White Belt through Black belt earning belts after rigorous training and examination. I taught students when I earned the Brown Belt and continued as I earned the Black belt. I have successfully entered numerous competitions over the years and mastered the 2nd degree black belt over twenty years ago. I now am considered a master trainer.
As an expert in database development and creation, I had worked as a database administrator for several years for the Conference of State Bank Supervisors. I worked with the first database program developed by Microsoft including dBase III, dBase III+, and dBase IV. I have also programmed and worked with MS Access through all versions especially from 2007 thru the current 2013. I created curriculum for the Capitol PC Users Group in MS Access in past years and currently program and develop MS Access database programs.
I have been leading projects for over twenty years and have used various versions of Microsoft Project from the 2000 version thru the 2013 version which interfaces with the internet. I also taught Microsoft Project when I was training director for the Capitol PC Users Group. Recently, I contracted for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs for two years to lead a team in completing a contract that I scheduled thru Microsoft Project software for a successful outcome. I also set up my teams schedule when contracting for a previous project with the Dept. of Veterans Affairs as the project director.
Currently, I am the editor for the Academy of Management, Operations Division, newsletter where I create and develop and publish the newsletter with Microsoft Publisher. I designed my own website with this product several years ago and uploaded the web site from Microsoft Publisher. I use the current version.
I was the Vice President, Program Director, and Training Director for the Capitol PC Users Group. I evaluated Microsoft products provided by Microsoft representatives for demonstration by my fellow members at the monthly meetings. I thoroughly evaluated Microsoft Windows when it was first introduced as the graphical user interface to replace DOS. I have installed, used, configured, and updated Windows from versions that began with the first Windows operating system. Windows 95 through Windows 2000 were common installations for new hardware that was configured by me. Windows operating systems up to and including VISTA, XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8 are currently installed and configured on all my computer hardware.
Currently, I speak at various venues to present on cybersecurity, managerial economics, international affairs, and other topics of interest to a variety of audiences. Recently, I spoke to college students on the value of pursuing educational prowess in cybersecurity for a local college. I periodically present for the Academy of Management and International Academy of Management.
I am qualified to teach the Catholic faith and have been an instructor in CCD (Conf. Christian Doctrine) which is Catholic instruction. I was taught the Catholic faith for nine years from grades one through nine and volunteered as an instructor in CCD since the eighth grade. I aligned my instruction with professing the faith as a lector, Eucharistic minister, and volunteer in setting the altar, teaching youth (certified), and counseling.
Sociology is a subject that I not only excelled at during my college years, I went on to author papers on impacts of socio-economic influences for various organizations such as the Environmental Protection Agency. My doctoral studies also included sociological adaptation of technological influences. In addition, I have incorporated Sociology into my subject training for courses such as Ethics in Technology. Students were required to provide sociological factors in adoption of innovations.
I have been teaching students from elementary school to college at the Master's degree level. I have completed two doctoral programs with extensive teaching skills in preparing students for admittance to various programs, courses, levels, and tests that are required for advancement either to the next grade, level, or skill to meet a certification. I held study hall sessions, study groups for certifications, group work in goal setting, advisory for military students, and have presented at many professional venues.
I received the American Red Cross proficiency test in swimming when I was 10 years old. I received the American Red Cross Lifeguard and Swimming Pool Operator certifications decades later. I have taught swimming periodically over the years. I also have taught various health and safety classes with the American Red Cross after receiving 15 certifications.
I am a volunteer for Bugles Across America playing music for veteran events and playing taps at funerals upon request. I have played the trumpet since the age of 14 and learned to read music at age 15 (over 40 years' experience). I have played in bands (high school, college, and professional).
My first programming language in college was GW basic where I designed an interactive game. I continued with programming in Basic and developed a curriculum for the Capitol PC Users Group with a sequence of six programming levels. Recently, I was asked to design a Visual Basic course for the National Guard. I designed the course, selected textbook material, trained the other professors, and successfully delivered the course to a technical college. I have been programming in this language for decades.
