I am an Associate Professor of Computer Science at UWMC in Wausau, WI. I have undergraduate degrees in CS and Math from UWEC, and have taken courses in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. I have an Masters in Information Systems from Southern California.

I tutored during college, and have done tutoring on the side while teaching.

I can start tutoring you immediately in java online. I use Skype to talk to the student and TeamViewer so I can connect to the student's computer to see their code in whatever editor they are using. Tutoring has been done on PCs, Macs, and UNIX machines. Editors used included JGrasp, BlueJay, TextPad, Eclipses, and others.

I am a reader for the AP CS exam and have provided tutoring for AP CS students for the last 5 years.

Students who receive this tutoring say that it is better than face-to-face because of the convenience and that they are focused on the code and not the person.

In addition, I have played and coached various sports, including Baseball, Softball, Football, Tennis, Soccer, and Volleyball.

Exceeded standards above and beyond

I had a javaFx homework basically I had to make a temperature converter from Fahrenheit to Celsius using a slider, I had to put it in a MVC design. I suck at coding and mark came to the rescue and help me fix the code. He made a miracle and in the process I learned a lot. Because of it I know now how to debug, how to pair the javaFx fxml file to the Java controller and the model. Just like a great programmer he took one step at a time fixing all my horrible code and teaching me what I did wrong. At the end It was awesome to have him help me out. He is the man!! Mark was fast as smooth and smooth as fast. Highly recommended him to others.

Great Tutor for College Computer Science classes!

If you, or your son/daughter, is struggling with Virtual Classes, and not getting the help needed, Mark is the perfect solution! Mark helped my son (Sophomore in college) with a final JAVA project. Because of Virtual classes and lack of live teaching during lab classes, my son kept getting stuck while trying to program the game he was assigned. Mark was excellent!! He pointed out where his code wasn't working. He helped build the framework and taught him how to code, with hands on teaching. Mark is able to view everything in real time, and watch what is being typed in, so he can correct a mistake immediately. My son scheduled several sessions with Mark throughout the week. Mark is always accommodating and patient. This helped my son actually learn how to program a game with different levels - Mark didn't just give him the answers so he could finish the project. My son said he will definitely continue to use Mark for future programming classes.

Waste of time

My experience with this instructor was bad. He told me he was a professor with a lot of knowledge in Java. However, when I called him asking for help on my Java project he couldn't help me to create a simple Java class. In addition, in the midle of the lesson he had a call from one of his friend and told me to hold on because he needed to take that call which last about 17 minutes. Once he finished his call with his friend I told him to stop the lesson. He still charged me with 20$ and he included the 17 minutes he spent on his call.

Outstanding expert in all things computer programming

Mark is outstanding and an expert in industry, all programming languages and easy to understand. He is an expert instructor who integrates varied backgounds of myself, new computer programming requirements I have for me to build skills. He is patient and forthcoming with definitions and annalogies to clarify concepts. Interacting on the spot with definitions, examples and explanations he exemplifies the adult learners grasping difficult material into a smooth and crystal clear understanding and comprehension of programming terminology. Thank so much.
