About Lynette

My name is Lynette, and I have been an English teacher for the past 15 years. I truly believe that every student has the ability to learn and achieve, and I do not give up on my students. I have taught students in grades ranging from 4th to college level, and one thing that never changes is my passion for helping the students I work with understand the concepts they are struggling with.

I have taught American Literature, British Literature, Creative Writing, Minority Writers, College Preparatory Writing, Literature, and also an ACT/SAT preparatory course. My greatest strengths in the areas of teaching critical reading and writing.

I have a positive attitude and do no view work with students as some kind of chore. If you are looking for a tutor who will tree your student like the individual he or she is, I hope you will contact me, so we can further discuss how I can assist your student in achieve his or her own personal goals.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Public Speaking

I have a minor in speech communication, and I have coached Forensics (competitive public speaking) for the last five years.

As a teacher, it is my job to speak in front of people every day, and I also teach a public speaking course as a part of my curriculum.

Finally, I have had the honor of giving several speeches to large groups for presentations as well as graduation ceremonies.
