About Stephanie

I'm a Princeton University graduate, majoring in molecular biology, with several years of experience in and a passion for tutoring. I've been tutoring continuously since high school, both as a private tutor and as a volunteer. I've tutored students ranging from elementary school to college in subjects such as reading and writing, algebra II, chemistry, and calculus.

I really love tutoring because I enjoy the feeling of being able to get someone to understand a difficult concept; I even helped one high school junior raise her SAT math score by 180 points. It means a lot to me to satisfy my students with tangible evidence of success, so that's my goal as a tutor.

Note: I rely on public transportation, so my meeting range is somewhat limited. I typically meet students at the Alicia Ashman Public Library on the West Side.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
