On campus, I work as a introductory physics lab teaching assistant as well as a physics tutor. Having once been a frustrated student of introductory math and physics material, my tutoring style revolves around trying to explain not just the "how" but also the "why," as I believe that that is where real comprehension occurs. Furthermore, like many other students, I have had bad experiences in learning these subjects, whether due to poor teaching or other circumstances. Therefore, I approach tutoring with empathy, and with the knowledge that my job isn't done until my student understands every aspect of a problem.
As a mathematics major, I have had extensive coursework in algebra, calculus, differential equations, statistical, and proof-based classes. The tools and skills I gained from these courses I put to use daily in my physics courses, so I am well equipped to tutor in these subjects.
As a senior physics major, I have come across a wide range of physics coursework in my undergraduate career. This has included Quantum Mechanics, Physical Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Optics, and other introductory coursework. Through these courses, I have developed my structured method for solving physics problems which I believe is critical to solving any problem, and which I believe everyone should utilize to solve these problems.
I would love to hear from you and help you meet your specific goals in your math or physics coursework. I like to consider myself an inclusive and fun individual, and want to help you succeed!
