Following my graduation from Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Music Education Degree and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, I was employed as the Instrumental Music Teacher in the Port Edwards School District; a position that I held for ten years. Following the birth of my first child, I decided to interrupt my full-time teaching career to become a full-time mother. After the birth of my second daughter in 2002, I returned to teaching as a part-time and full-time substitute teacher for the area school districts. I also continued to be employed as a Wisconsin School Music Association Adjudicator, in which I hold the master adjudication status.
In the past fifteen years working in the Wisconsin Rapids area school districts as a substitute, long-term, and homebound teacher. I have become familiar and comfortable with various levels of instruction. I enjoy the challenge of educating all students. In my past experience as a band director and as a substitute teacher, I have worked with students of all age groups and learning capabilities i.e. CD, LD, and ED. Through student accomplishment, I strive to encourage and instill an enthusiasm for learning. I also incorporate my own learning experiences from my liberal arts education and extensive travels and studies abroad in my instruction. Student enthusiasm and accomplishments continue to inspire me in my teaching experiences.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
