Hello, my name is Elena. Although I was born in the USA, I lived in Mexico for over 20 years, and I consider Spanish my native language. I am also fluent in English, and enjoy translating and tutoring here in the States.
My background is in Law, and I've worked as a lawyer in Mexico for 8 years. While in school, I participated in several Spanish spelling/grammar competitions, and placed 1st and 2nd in many of them (yes, I'm kind of nerdy).
I am very passionate about Spanish language and culture, and would love to tutor anyone who also has an interest in Spanish and/or Mexican culture. I am a very patient person and have experience working with others.
I hope to work with you soon!

Elena goes above and beyond by printing up specialized lessons on topics that our daughter would like to explore. She is always punctual, well-organized and flexible to meet any need or request our daughter has. Way to go Elena!!
Very flexible! Elena was able to meet with our daughter twice this week to make sure she was prepared for a test and help out with a paper. Elena does a lot of prep before their lesson. She comes with printouts and worksheets pertaining to the subject manor that will be covered that week in class.
Way to go girls. With lots of hard work on both your parts, our daughter got a B+ as her final grade for college Spanish!!! She couldn't have done it without you. Muy Bien
I'm so happy to hear that! And I'm glad I could help, but this was all your daughter! She's a wonderful student and it has been my pleasure tutoring such a smart and committed young lady!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
