I taught at Lourdes High School in Oshkosh for 39 years. There, I taught all courses (pre algebra, algebra1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry and calculus) offered at one time or another, which includes both upper and lower level students. I am willing to spend extra hours outside the classroom helping students. I try to develop confidence in students which will in turn allow them to have success.

Richard K. is working with my ADD son and knocking it out of the park! They seem to have a good working relationship after just a few times together and we are really encouraged by his response. Continuing to look for increased confidence in our son with each lesson and can't wait to see how he does after a whole summer with him!
Richard was very flexible with his time to meet our needs. My son needed homework help one day and test prep the second. Amazing to find a professional who is helping bring back the confidence my son once had with math. I recommend Richard K to the nth degree!
Richard has been fantastic for Maggie! She really likes and respects him and enjoys the way he teaches. I would highly recommend Richard. We are blessed to have found him.
My son went from an F to a B- in the last 6 weeks of school last year. Richard is back with us this year for Algebra 2. He is a retired math teacher-what a find.
Our son fell way behind in the new curriculum Neenah introduced this year for pre-algebra (common core, I believe) and was continually losing confidence day by day. Traditionally math has been one of his strong subjects, so it's been frustrating. He finished 2nd quarter with a 45% F.
We found Richard and started him with tutoring the first week of 3rd quarter and we are happy to report that he currently has a B and on his last quiz, he got a 28/30! We've seen steady progress, getting 70% scores after a couple of weeks to where we are today. Our son has a great relationship with Richard and is engaged during their meetings. Richard found ways to explain concepts that our son could understand and remember. We can see the confidence return, which is priceless.
It is amazing to see the enormous improvement with our son in his precalculus class. Thanks to Richard, our son went from an "F" on his previous test, to an "A" on his last test. And the grade isn't the most important aspect of this -- it's that our son has the confidence going into, and during the test, to know what he's doing and actually understand what he's doing. Knowledge, understanding, and confidence are huge for someone who has always struggled in math. (10/12)
Well, our son just graduated from high school -- with high honors. He would have never been able to achieve this level without the continuing help from Rich with precalculus. Rich is friendly, patient, available, a great tutor, and knows math. Our son took several college and AP classes in high school, earning 18 college credits, but math just doesn't come easy for him. We are so thankful for all that Rich has done for our son. We would highly recommend Rich for tutoring math! (6/13)
Mr. Rich K. is an excellent tutor. He is very flexible in his appointment times. My son really likes him and says he's the best tutor he ever had.
Coach K is always on time, he has a great sense of humor, and he is totally dedicated to his students. He makes learning math fun and breaks things down into understandable portions. He has a lifetime of experience with teaching math and relating to kids. It shows!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
