I am a licensed Math Teacher in Minnesota and Wisconsin. I have a great passion for Math and my goal is to share that passion and enthusiasm for Math with others. I make Math exciting, and have an ability to bring the complex Math concepts to an understandable level. I also have over 5yrs of tutoring Math & ACT Math Prep, as well as scoring top 15% in many standardized Math Tests. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have 4 years of experience of tutoring ACT Math prep. I have also scored very high on the ACT test. I also teach Geometry, so I am currently familiar with the concepts on a daily basis.
I taught 1 year of high school Algebra, as well as 2 years of using algebra skills in a high school Geometry Class.
I have taught Algebra 2 extensively in my student teaching. I also tutored Algebra 2 students & Algebra 2 Concepts for 3+ years. I also help students in a high school setting daily with these concepts so the ideas are fresh in my mind.
I graduated High School and College with honors. I have also taken numerous standardized tests, so I know many of the tips and tricks to improve your score.
I have taught high school Geometry for 2 years. In addition I found many of my students becoming more excited about Math; however, they still did not warm up to proofs. I've also tutored Geometry professionally for over 5 years.
I have taught 2 years of High School Geometry, which involves a great deal of introductory logic, mostly in the form of proofs. I enjoy engaging people in logic and probing to see what conclusions our premises take us to.
I passed Praxis 1 well above the minimums. Also, I passed Praxis 2 Math Content, scoring in the top 15% of test takers. In addition to scoring really well, I have tutored students for 5+ years outside of WyzAnt.
I taught 1 year of Algebra in a high school setting, which allows me to see what is needed for a student going through Pre-Algebra. I am also now a 7th Grade Math Teaching who handles Pre-Algebra Classes.
