I have been a special education teacher for 13 years. I spent the last two years as an administrator in a an urban charter school. I am seeking work as a tutor to get back to what I love and what I do best! I have worked with both special education and regular education students. I have helped children who have struggled find success. I help them find new ways to get the material they are struggling with. My students have met goals and I still get notes from former students' parents thanking me for what I did for their child.
Every child can learn. The key is to find what works for them. I can connect easily with children and help them find their confidence. My goal is that I can continue to make learning less stressful for children in a now stressful learning environment. I am creative, positive, funny and goal focused. My students have stayed in contact with me and share all they have accomplished. Tutoring is the best form of teaching as it allows a personal connection and an individualized approach to be developed.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
