My name is Matt, I'm an Electrical Engineer by day, designing electronic components for a company that manufacturers light fixtures in the greater Milwaukee area. I graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a 3.6 GPA. Before that, I received my Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology at Waukesha County Technical College with a GPA of 3.4. Prior to that, I had dropped out of another local two year college, so I understand the frustrations one can face with any education, and more importantly, how to overcome it.

One of the things I enjoy most about my day job is explaining how our new products work to coworkers who might not have the same technical understanding. I think this comes from my time at the technical school where I helped tutor students who were taking some of the classes, but wanted help understanding whatever subject we were working on better. I like helping people get to the point that they truly understand the material, and are able to speak with authority on the subject matter.

The Electrical Engineering discipline is very much related to Math. In my Academic career, I took every class from Trigonometry up to Vector Analysis, which sharpened my technical abilities with math. More importantly, I'd use those techniques in my other courses, which firmed up my understanding of the math, and its real life applications.

Microsoft Excel is a tool that I've used throughout my whole Academic career, and is a program that I use daily in my professional life. It's an extremely powerful tool, if you know how to operate it.

As I've mentioned a few times, I work as an Electrical Engineer. My primary focus is on Analog Electronics, and I enjoy power delivery systems the most. I've designed power supplies, capacitive touch sensors, Analog-Digital Interfaces, Force Sensing applications, and more.

I have a strong understanding of 8-Bit Microcontrollers, with an emphasis on the AVR series thaat you'll find with the Arduino. I have a working understanding of digital logic.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have. I'm looking forward to helping out with whatever subjects we'll go over!
