I am currently an instructor of reading and study skills. I have been teaching for thirteen years and have worked with elementary students and college students. I enjoy enriching the lives of young readers through literary outreach as well as helping older students better develop their skills in reading, writing and retention through study skills.
I am a certified reading teacher with re-certification of Licensure for Instruction in Reading, focus included: reading interests of adolescents and reading in content areas.
I have my undergraduate degree from Marquette University in English with a minor in elementary education. I have my graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in curriculum and instruction. "Words are thought and we cannot think without thought!"
I have taught as a reading interventionist through Cardinal Stritch University in which principals of phonics were used to strengthen the student's reading ability.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
