In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught Bible Classes over 5 years in Christian Schools. I have also taken Bible classes in college. I have also conducted Devotional Bible Studies.

I have had 3 Phonics classes in college. I have taught Phonics at the elementary level which includes grades K-3. During this time I also created games for the students to play and to take home and I have also studied Phonics at Concordia University as part of the Reading Program for those who are deficient. This included a class for children as well as adults.
I have had extensive study in Public Speaking in college as I took Public Speaking courses and courses on how to teach Public Speaking. I have taught Public Speaking previously for all grades. Students were taught how to choose a topic, how to research information on the topic, and how to organize the topic. I also taught them what to do with their hands, correct posture, how to project their voice and how to make eye contact. I filmed students so that they could see their progress and so that they could be critiqued. I have prepared students for debates using Public speaking.
As a teacher it was my job to teach students how to study. I taught students how to take notes, highlight important issues and how to determine what is important. I taught students how to remember dates and important events. In math I taught them how to check answers and how to break problems down to smaller parts. Students were also taught how to read and decipher chapter summaries and how to write their own summaries. I learned this in college studies. I have taught this for over 5 years.
